ROCKFORD ? The Rock Valley College Sustainable Energy Club wants people to help it identify locations in Winnebago, Boone, Stephenson or Ogle counties with renewable energy technologies and associated projects.
The club will collect the data for a map with the type, size and location of all solar electric, solar thermal (heat) wind turbines, geothermal, bio gas and related technologies in the region. Its hope is to encourage others to understand how these installations benefit the community. So far club members identified more than 40 sites in Winnebago and Boone counties and want to find at least 40 more by Earth Day (April 22).
